BATTLE IN THE DESERT
The Matches were played February 19-21 on the North and South Courses of The
Golf Club
at Terra Lago. Day one was played on the North Course where Team California/Canada
took
a 11 to 7 lead. Day two the teams battled it out on the South Course, ending
all square
for the day with 9 points each. Going into final day's
Singles Matches on the North Course,
California/Canada was holding a 20 to16 lead. When the dust settled California/Canada
had picked up 22 of the 36 points available and cruised to a 42 to 30 victory.
The 2010 Challenge was the 11th in the series, which dates back to 1999. California
Teams
hold a 7 to 4 advantage in the Matches.
